FARM WEDDING – HALF MOON BAY – NICOLE + DYLON

Sep 18, 2015

With Nicole and Dylon’s guest list well over 200, they made having their wedding on the Riley family farm the perfect location.

Nicole and Dylon grew up down the street from one another. Always knowing of each other growing up lead to a strong foundation. It wasn’t until after Nicole graduated from college that she came back home to Half Moon Bay and found the love of her life! “Never did I think I would meet the man of my dreams down the street from where I grew up,” Nicole says.

Dylon’s family are original homesteaders to Half Moon Bay which made their wedding even more special when they decided to have it on their family farm. Mostly known for growing artichokes and tomatoes Dylon’s family farm has been passed down from generation to generation. Nicole and Dylon spend every weekend at the local Half Moon Bay farmers market selling the family produce. The wedding gave the Riley family a reason to renovate their old white chipped barn and turn it into a rustic, elegant, reception. From hanging up every light to patching the floorboards for the dance floor, they put their blood, sweat, and tears into making this a reality.

The ceremony was placed right outside Dylon’s grandparents house. The first house that was built on the farm back in the early 1900’s. The ceremony overlooked the Pacific  ocean off of the tall Half Moon Bay ridge. It was a million dollar view right in Dylon’s backyard. The guest had an amazing view while watching Nicole and Dylon profess their eternal love to one another as the waves crashed up against the ridge.

“It was a wedding unlike any other, so romantic and simple” a guest mentions during the cocktail hour.

The Riley family already had the space, one-of-a-kind location, and a place that would bring memories to their family for generations past and future.

With Dylon’s logical sense and Nicole’s quest for romance this wedding was a perfect combination of love, family, and having a good time. During the reception, one toast caught Nicole and Dylon by surprise. Dylon’s grandfather singing Dean Martin’s “Amore” in Italian. I felt like I was being transported back to Italy! Nicole and Dylon both have Italian decent and love Italian food, so this made everything come together for their wedding day. By the end of the night everyone was dancing including myself! Nicole and Dylon made me feel like a part of the family. Their generosity and selflessness made me and all the guest feel like the most important people in their lives.
