New Year, New Me!

Jan 20, 2015

I Got Married!

You would think being a photographer it would be easy to plan your own wedding right? It’s just as overwhelming and confusing as anyone else that gets married. Even being a part of countless weddings and seeing how everyone else does it, I was still lost in making decisions. So I decided to elope! Simply Elope is a great website for getting ideas, inspiration, and to see how others handle their intimate wedding. Another great site is Green Wedding, they have a wide variety of styles and ideas without having to break the bank.

So with that being mentioned, hello 2015!

blog_NewYearNewMe

I started this year out with a BANG! I got married! Formerly known as Ashley Kiener Photography, I have now taken a new name…Ashley LaPrade Photography. Over the past few months I have been filling my free time with rebranding myself and filling out countless forms to change my name. I never knew how difficult it was until the To-Do list I had continued to grow over two pages long of what I needed to change.

Oh, and did I mention that this is my first blog post EVER! What a way to start it all.

I’m not much of a talker, let alone blogger, so this is all new territory for me. So many questions ran through my mind. How do I start a blog, keep it going, what do I talk about? To be honest, I felt frustrated and alone. How does anyone have time for this I thought. I woke up one morning, grab some tea and a muffin and starting researching. I decided the best approach was to see how others in my field handled their blog. See what kind of material they posted, etc.

One of my many New Years resolution goals includes creating a blog (check!), keeping a mason jar with “good things” that happen in 2015, and raising my 7 month old horse, Nahla (this post will be on the blog next).

I cannot wait to see what this year has in store for me. I have so much to look forward to and I am so thankful for all my friends and family that have supported me through the years.
