When we think of Joshua Tree, most of us imagine an erie desert filled with Cacti, Joshua Tree’s, and boulder rock formations. For Cheryl and Jimbo it is their home. Where they work, hangout with friends, and collaborate with their local community to create a city filled with music, the arts, and mom and pop shops.

It was a Chamber of Commerce mixer where Cheryl and Jimbo met each other for the very first time. Cheryl owning her own embroidery and digitizing company and Jimbo working in the construction field, their professions made for very opposite and interesting conversation. Quickly they began to build not only a friendship but a relationship that would be a beacon of hope for everyone around them. A hope for being able to find unconditional love after your heart has been broken many times before.
Their passion for volunteering in their local community and non-profit organizations led them to love one another as if they have known each other since grade school. Through their volunteering they have been able to travel together using Jimbo’s Harley Davidson. From charity biker rallies to building homes for the homeless and in need. Cheryl and Jimbo possess a personable and caring attitude to everyone they meet. When I met them for the first time in Starbucks I wasn’t sure if I was going to end up being their photographer. Anxiously following up with them to see if they have made a decision to learn, I was the lucky one! We quickly planned their engagement session at the Morongo Preserve and went hiking.

Fast forward to their wedding day at a private estate in Joshua Tree. One of their mutual friends performed a traditional Native American wedding ceremony that changed my life!  Emotionally and spiritually everyone was connected at the exact same time as Cheryl and Jimbo. It was an experience that it too difficult to describe in words, you just had to be there to understand the power and connectivity that everyone had. The only way I know how to describe it in words is serene, passionate, and calm. For the reception Jimbo created a Phoenix iron clad gate build from his bare hands. Put his Harley Davidson in front of it with the beautiful bride, it was the perfect photo that sums up Cheryl and Jimbo. Hard-working, creative, and fun-loving.
