About The Saguaro Palm Springs Wedding Venue
1800 E Palm Canyon Dr, Palm Springs, California 92264
The Saguaro Palm Springs and wedding venue has always been the type of place focused on curating an unforgettable experience. The hotel first opened its doors in 1977 as The International before going through a quick identity change to become The Holiday Inn. For decades, it was your standard hotel, giving visitors an affordable spot to rest their heads. It wasn’t until 2012 that it would undergo a complete transformation after it was purchased by the boutique brand Joie de Vivre. Their goal was to create the perfect destination for Coachella Festival goers.

Not only would it be Insta-worthy with colors that mimicked the spirit of the valley, but it would also host one-of-a-kind events like drag performances and poolside DJ performances. These days, the hotel is a coveted destination for everything from luxury getaways to vibrant celebrations. If you are looking for a vibrant backdrop for your Palm Springs wedding, there’s a good chance The Saguaro is for you!

Details of the Grounds
We started out the morning of Geoffrey and David’s wedding, getting ready in their suite. The rooms are every bit as colorful as the exterior, offering the ideal backdrop for their candid portraits as Chelsea Nicole worked on hair and makeup. They also had plenty of space to prepare in their custom Leonardo 5th Avenue suits before spending some time with their family members and friends. As they took some time to unwind, I made sure to grab some pictures of their vintage-inspired invitations from A La Carte Paperia as well as their paper goods from Open Air Paper. Before we left, we were also sure to sneak out on the balcony and snap some pics with that iconic color scheme in the background!

For their ceremony, they headed out to the courtyard for a ceremony officiated by Casey Sweeney. This area is always a popular option for Palm Springs weddings. The grass is turf, so it stays green even in the midst of the brutal desert heat. Meanwhile, the rainbow colors from the surrounding balconies show off in the backdrop. The front of the area is nestled right in front of the pools, with the cabanas giving their own unique charm, and an orange fence adds privacy. The couple used Royal Bee Floral Co. for their flowers and design, choosing rainbow colors that perfectly matched the hotel decor. The entire area was exploding with color in the very best way possible!

If you would prefer a space with a bit more privacy, the hotel does offer a rooftop setting. This cozy spot features pink walls that brilliantly contrast the hazy blue skies. The views here are pretty unmatched!
Drinks And Receptions At The Saguaro Palm Springs Wedding Venue
Their guests headed inside to order drinks from the bar, and then they went back outside to take in that California sun. The patio is the ideal spot for your cocktail hour, giving your guests an intimate space where they can share some hors d’oeuvres while you take your pics.

Finally, it was time to dance the night away! The couple moved into the Sago Ballroom for this portion. This area offers a bit of a blank slate to accommodate every kind of wedding style. The white walls, exposed white beams, and piping give a sophisticated yet industrial touch. David and Geoffrey brought in rentals from Luna Design Co. to keep up with the rainbow colors and served a decadent blush pink cake baked by the experts behind Butter Cake Studio. They also had a custom dance floor that lit up throughout the night. Their guests had the best time ever dancing along to music djed by Crowd Control Entertainment. All in all, it was a night just about as iconic as the couple themselves!

Photography Opportunities
Throughout Geoffrey and David’s wedding, I worked alongside the videographers at All Because He Asked to capture all those fantastic little details. Because this hotel is so bold and gorgeous, there were a lot of backdrops to choose from! We took some portraits out on the balconies before moving down to the courtyard for their first look pictures. I loved the look of their custom suits against the colorful fences! We also stayed here for their formal pictures. With the Palm Springs landscape as well as the Rainbow Hotel stretching on in the backdrop, this location was truly a feast!
