The company was started after Tony Margolis, Bob Emfield, and their wives talked about a lifestyle where they never, ever had to leave the beach. For most of us, that’s the dream. For them, it became an empire. They found an investor and went to work creating the ideal wardrobe for the sophisticated beach bum, choosing apparel like well-tailored pants and printed silk shirts. They launched the company in 1993, and before long, it was a hit! The brand exploded, offering consumers products like fragrances, swimwear, eyewear, watches, rum, and even their very own Mercedes-Benz.
The Tommy Bahama Miramonte Resort is one of their latest endeavors. The hotel opened its doors in November of 2023, offering travelers a beach experience in the midst of the desert. The resort straddles 11 acres overlooking the Santa Rosa mountains. Their on-site restaurant, Grapefruit Basil, is a culinary playground, while their spa invites you to abandon your worries and simply relax. Their events team is just as devoted to a stress-free experience, giving you all of the tools you need to create the wedding of your dreams.

With Tommy Bahama Miramonte Resort, you can transform your wedding into an unforgettable week! This venue has exceptional accommodations that will keep you in total comfort the entire time. Not only is it convenient, but it will also give you a fantastic spot to get ready ahead of your ceremony. With their suites, you can have a sunny and colorful spot to split some champagne and make some memories. You are also going to love the private balconies for pictures with your best friends.
You are going to have several great outdoor options for your ceremony. The biggest space will be the Grand Lawn, where you can fit up to 300 guests. While it’s large, it still manages to feel intimate. You will have a completely private space surrounded by cypress trees and boxwood trees. The neighboring palm trees, giving way to the mountains, really give you the classic Palm Springs experience!
Another option is the Miramonte Lawn. This spot gives you relaxed backyard vibes. You will have the colors of the gardens as well as some of the best views of the mountains. This area is going to easily transition to your cocktail hour once your ceremony is over. The lawn will give you enough space for up to 225 guests.

Smaller weddings are going to fall in love with Sunset Terrace, where you will have enough space for up to 100 guests. This covered, open-air space takes you up a level, making it the ideal place to watch the sun sink below the mountains. (hence the name!)
William and Lisa chose to have their ceremony on the Terrace with their guests seated at round tables. This allowed their day to effortlessly flow into dinner. Their friends shared speeches before it was time to dance the night away in the ballroom just next door.
Speaking of which, let’s chat about the indoor spaces. The Tommy Bahama Miramonte Resort has two ballrooms you can use for your wedding reception. The Marlin Ballroom is always a great option! This area is able to hold up to 285 guests and keeps the views on prominent display. The flexible floor plan has plenty of room for dancing and celebrating! With neutral colors, large windows, and wooden ceiling beams, it welcomes every style.
The Grand Ballroom is the most popular option. This area was built to be paired with the Grand Lawn, opening directly to the ceremony area. It can equally accommodate up to 300 guests and gives you cream-colored walls and subtly patterned carpet.
Additionally, the venue will allow you to host a reception in the outdoor ceremony spaces for those who prefer a fully outdoor party.
Photography Opportunities
I loved getting to use this venue for William and Lisa’s portraits! While the inside definitely had some picture-perfect spots, the exterior gave us endless gorgeous backdrops for their couple’s and group portraits. We took advantage of the southwestern facade, such as the white stucco walls accented by the orange brick. Then, we took some time exploring the property and taking pictures along the tiled walkways with the desert plants showing off in the background. The winding tiled staircase and the terrace were additionally great spots for formal portraits!
