There are wedding planners, and then, there is Pam Olson. Pam has spent decades working in the industry, and the experience shows in every event she brings to life. She got her start over 30 years ago when she began to work in the banquet and catering department at the MGM Grand Hotel. As you might have imagined, she quickly became a pro at handling all the little details to create a flawless event. From there, she moved on to various hotels and wedding venues around Northern Nevada, Reno, Lake Tahoe, and Southern California. In this role, she worked on all of the logistics, including promoting, planning, catering, and coordinating events. Over the next few years, she would go to different hotels, working with couples to plan their weddings. She threw countless parties while completely customizing all the details.
It wasn’t until 2020 that she decided maybe it was time for a change. Like all of us, COVID had thrown a wrench in her plans, and she decided to take this as an opportunity to semi-retire. But of course, she couldn’t silence the part of her brain that needed to constantly be creating. She opened up Weddings with Pam Olson to plan all the big picture details, including the venue and the timeline. Today, she ditches the traditional concept of wedding planners and works as a consultant, concierge, coordinator, and personal assistant. One of her best-known specialties is helping couples find their perfect venue. I can tell you from experience, this part is normally the most challenging when it comes to planning your wedding.
The spot you choose will determine everything from the style of your day to the ability to keep it all running smoothly. It takes a true visionary to find the option that feels custom-made for you. Luckily, Pam is always up for the challenge! On the day of your wedding, she will get there early in the morning, get your party any snacks and drinks, chat with the hotel team, and be there for vendor arrivals. She typically brings in assistance to help with this, so they can be in multiple places at once. They will keep everything running smoothly, escort your party to each wedding site, start up the dances, make sure the cake is cut, and tell the entertainment when to begin. Pam is going to be on-site throughout the entire event and make sure everything goes according to plan!
