GIRLS TRIP IN PALM SPRINGS

Jul 26, 2016

What happens when three girlfriends from around the globe make it a tradition to travel together once a year? A Palm Springs vacation that leads to jamming out at Coachella Fest!

For Harriet it was important that no matter how far away she is from her best friends, she would make it a pack to see them at least once a year. This lead to creating an annual experience traveling the world with her best friends by her side. Sounds like a real version of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, am I right?

Getting to know the girls together while running around Palm Springs together was so much fun. We started at the Korakia Pensione for some fun portraits while still finding time to get those candid shots on side streets. From climbing in trees to posing like a girl boss, this made the photo-shoot one to remember. I think it is easier to pose and feel natural when you have close friends to keep you distracted from the fact that you have a camera in your face. Let’s be honest, who enjoys having a camera in their face while hearing, “act natural”. So I’ve put together a couple of tips on how to look more natural in photos.

Some tips for looking natural in photographs:

  1. Playing with your hands
Whether its putting them in your pockets or pushing your hair back. This is a great technique to help you focus on something other than the camera being directly in front of you.
  2. Interact with others around you
If you are not doing the photo-shoot by yourself. Interacting with others around you is a great way to get those candid smiles, laughs, and body movements.
  3. Doing the twist pose
There are two ways to do this move. Take a 3-4 steps away from the camera and turn back to look at the camera. Or twist your upper body towards the camera with one hand on your hip. The two moves are fun to do and make you and your arms look good.
